The Foundation
Since its establishment, the Foundation has distributed over SEK 47 million to fund more than 214 symposia.
Focusing on multi-discipline symposia
The Foundation supports symposia in multiple areas that Swedish scientists have been successful in.
Grant policy
Grants are made for symposia of high scientific quality that have an international orientation and are attended by international participants. Symposia shall not be recurrent. They are to be held in Sweden and have a limited number of participants.

Highly qualified Swedish scientists and institutions may apply for grants.

The Wallenberg Foundations
The Wallenberg Foundations is the collective name for 16 non-profit public and private foundations established by individual members of the Wallenberg family or in honor of family members.
The Foundations granted a total of SEK 2.7 billion in 2023.
The largest of the Wallenberg Foundations is Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation, founded in 1917, which promotes scientific research within the natural sciences, technology and medicine.
The other two large foundations are Marianne and Marcus Wallenberg Foundation (scientific research mainly within the social sciences), and Marcus and Amalia Wallenberg Foundation (scientific research mainly within the humanities).
In addition, there are a number of other Wallenberg Foundations.
